Flu & Covid-19 Booster vaccinations

THE FLU VACCINE

The seasonal flu vaccine protects against strains of flu virus. These strains are recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) as the strains most likely to be circulating this season.

The vaccine is available every year to adults and children at risk of flu and its complications.  It is important to get a new vaccine every Autumn because the strains of flu virus change.

It is recommended you get your flu vaccine during the Autumn, to be covered for flu season.

Flu vaccination appointments are now available for over 65’s and 13 to 64 year olds deemed ‘At Risk’ – for a list of the ‘At Risk’ categories details please visit the HSE’s website here

To book an appointment, please use the booking tool below by selecting your preferred pharmacy. If there is no availability please check back soon. Appointments for the Free Nasal Spray Vaccine for 2 to 12 year olds and Private Flu vaccinations for 13 to 64 year olds not deemed At Risk will become available in October – please check back.

*Vaccination service subject to trained pharmacist and stock availability.

COVID-19 BOOSTER DOSES

The protection from previous doses or a COVID-19 infection may weaken over time. Booster doses help boost your antibodies and give you good protection from becoming seriously ill or needing to go to hospital if you get COVID-19.

A first booster is recommended for all adults age 18 years and older. After this, seasonal boosters are recommended for some people.

Selected Adrian Dunne Pharmacies will be administering Covid-19 Booster vaccine doses as outlined below:

Autumn Booster

First Booster

Some people have not had their first booster dose. At least one booster is:

  • recommended for people age 18 and older
  • available to people age 12 and older

Please wait 4 months after your last COVID-19 vaccine or COVID-19 infection. For some people who need protection sooner, you can get your first booster 3 months after your last COVID-19 vaccine or infection.

People under 16 must attend their booster appointment with a parent or guardian. A parent or guardian will need to give consent for their child’s vaccination.

To secure your booking, please complete all fields on the online booking form. Note you will be asked to re-enter your details at the end of the booking process.

An email or text will be sent to confirm your booking. If you do not receive a confirmation please contact your local branch so your appointment can be confirmed.
