Flu & Covid-19 Booster vaccinations

THE FLU VACCINE

The seasonal flu vaccine protects against strains of flu virus. These strains are recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) as the strains most likely to be circulating each season.

The vaccine is available every year to adults and children at risk of flu and its complications.  It is important to get a new vaccine every Autumn because the strains of flu virus change.

It is recommended you get your flu vaccine during the Autumn, to be covered for flu season.

2023/24 Flu vaccination appointments have now closed. We’ll share details about the 2024/25 Flu vaccination programme in late August/early September. Please check back then – we’ll also share information on our social media pages.

COVID-19 BOOSTER DOSES

The protection from previous doses or a COVID-19 infection may weaken over time. Booster doses help boost your antibodies and give you good protection from becoming seriously ill or needing to go to hospital if you get COVID-19.

A first booster is recommended for all adults age 18 years and older. After this, seasonal boosters are recommended for some people.

Our Covid-19 Autumn Booster vaccine appointments have now closed. Should further booster doses be offered by the HSE, we will provide information about booking an appointment here – we’ll also share details on our social media pages.
